I Heart Summer

23.8.16

Looking back at these photos makes me feel so happy. They are just a few photos from a couple of weekends in the last 2 months. The weekends have been full of lovely, joyful, and chilled moments, I wish I could relive them all again, at least I can look back at these photos and they will be here to remind me of those gorgeous days.

Weekend by the lake

After getting back from my summer holiday in Portugal with my sister I went up to visit my love, we had a relaxed weekend together looking around the shops, making veggie lasagne, baking banana bread and watching films. We spent the Sunday afternoon by Hornsea Mere lake. There was a lovely little cafe with delicious pistachio and raspberry cake, we then walked off that sweet treat by the lake, looking at the sailboats passing by.

Birthday weekend

Both of our birthdays were at the end of July so we took a few days off work and spent the long weekend together. It was so lovely, warm and sunny, the perfect British summer weather. We went into town to have a browse in the shops and stopped to have a little afternoon tea at The Pudding Stop. We shared a warm peanut butter brownie with salted caramel ice cream, if you're ever in St Albans it is definitely worth visiting, they also do amazing pancakes for brunch.

On the Saturday we had a picnic in Trent Park and did a little bit of Pokemon hunting. I was quite addicted to it a few weeks ago! The next day we went to Brighton and stayed over night. It was a great place to spend my birthday with my favourite person. I was completely spoilt with gifts, it was one of my favourite birthdays so far.

The weekend of parties

The next weekend was full of more celebrations, the Friday was one of my best friends son's birthday and house warming party all rolled into one. We ordered pizzas and snacked on sweets and chocolates all night.

Saturday was another one of my best friends had their engagement party. I'm so incredibly happy for them and can't believe that I'm at that age where my friends are getting engaged, buying houses and have children. It's all been so amazing and makes me feel very grown up. That night I had few Toblerone cocktails and giggled loads with some of my oldest friends. I can't wait for more engagement parties and the weddings!

Mother, sister, daughter London & spa weekend

My sister's birthday was at the beginning of August, we had a weekend full of fun. We went into London for dinner and cocktails before we saw Aladdin in the theatre, it was amazing. Definitely worth seeing if you get the chance.

The next day, my Mum, sister and I headed to Oxfordshire for a spa trip for our birthdays. I've never been to a spa before and I really enjoyed it. A couple of hours relaxing by the pool with a book before having a facial can do a lot of good. I now need to treat myself to a facial again. It was great to spend some time with my Mum and sister, we rarely get the chance to go out and do things together.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the end of summer will bring and I'm already getting a little excited for autumn and all the great things ahead.
